AUDITION 2022/2023

Audition will consist of:

 

  • Guided warm-up.

  • Learned material.

  • Partner work.

  • 1 minute prepared solo. ​

Please review CONDER/dance body of work prior to audition date. 

Employment details:
  • Paid Rehearsals.  $12 - $15 / hour.

  • 2 - 3 rehearsals per week.  

  • Parking reimbursement provided.

  • Paid Performances. $50 - $200 / performance.

  • Rehearsal Location:  Arizona State University.

  • Rehearsals for first project begin in August 2022. 

  • Dancers are contracted project to project.

  • Performance venues for 2022/2023 include:

    • Gammage Auditorium​

    • Galvin Auditorium - ASU

    • Tempe Center for the Arts

    • Taliesin West

Mission and Bio

Founded by Artistic Director Carley Conder in 2003, CONDER|dance is committed to enhancing the cultural vibrancy of its home community in Arizona. CONDER|dance is a resident arts organization of the Tempe Center for the Arts. CONDER|dance also produces Breaking Ground, a notable dance and film festival, at Tempe Center for the Arts. By creating vibrant new works, providing platforms for artists to present innovative voices in dance and building bridges through creative exchange, CONDER|dance's objective is to enlarge the artistic environment that is vital to the cultural fabric of Arizona.

Recent commissions include: partnership to create live performance programming for Frank Lloyd Wright's Arizona home, Taliesin West and AQUA - an evening length work in collaboration with Opus Ballet in Santa Barbara, CA. CONDER/dance has enjoyed performances throughout the Arizona community including traditional venues such as Orpheum Theater, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Mesa Arts Center, Phoenix Theater and non-traditional venues such as Phoenix Art Museum, W Hotel, Clarendon Hotel, David and Gladys Wright House, and Desert Botanical Garden.  Nationally, CONDER/dance has presented work in Dixon Place (NYC), Westbeth (NYC), John Ryan Theater (NYC), CPR Theater (Brooklyn), Diavolo Theater (LA), and Capitol Theater (SLC, UT).
