Carley Conder
Ecstasy of Betrayal
This tiny dance explores the ideas of nostalgia and decay; both contrary to Wright’s relentless thirst for innovation and discovery. The work serves as a foil to what we know about the values that Wright spent his life developing and defining. Presented as an alter ego that embraces sentimentality, glamour and deterioration, this dance looks to answer the question “What if?” in relation to Frank Lloyd Wright and his implacable persona.
