From Carley Conder

Looking back over 20 years of choreography is like flipping through a living journal.

Each of these dances holds a chapter of my life: the joy of becoming a mother, the heartbreak of losing a parent, the astonishment of watching my children grow into themselves. These works are vessels of time. They carry what I’ve learned and hoped for — often before I could articulate it in any other way.

It has been a true labor of love to bring these dances back to life. I am deeply grateful to the original dancers who helped build these works from the ground up with trust, generosity, and raw creativity. And to the current dancers: thank you for approaching this work with care, rigor, and heart. You’ve breathed new energy into these vintage pieces.

To the audiences — past and present — thank you. Your willingness to witness, and support has meant everything. Thank you for making space for art that comes from a personal place.

Here’s to the past, the present, and all that’s still to come.
Here’s to 20 years of CONDER/dance.

With gratitude,
Carley
